Based on short story 'Maan Bhanjan' by Rabindranath Tagore, the story is set in the old days, when it was a taboo for women to watch plays in theatre, to act in theatre. One of Tagore’s powerful short stories, Giribala has an old world classical charm and yet contains within its folds an irrepressible female energy.
