Gilbert “Magu” Lujan, well-known as a sculptor, muralist and painter, is also one of the founders of Los Four, a collective force that aimed to push the Chicano visual arts movement. Lujan was a prominent force in establishing Chicano art as an independent and valid form of expression in the 1970s. One of Lujan’s most famous murals, “The Yellow Brick Road,” can be seen at the Hollywood and Vine station on the Los Angeles Metro Red Line.
