Join the Istituto in celebrating the holidays with a special performance on classical guitar by Giacomo Fiore in a two-part program: the first part will focus on the development of Italian (and specifically Genovese) guitar through the ages, while the second will focus on the array of approaches to contemporary guitar.
Giacomo Fiore hails from the seaport city of Genova. He is a graduate of San Francisco Conservatory as well as Belmont University. He has performed to audiences around the world and recently released his third recording.
SF Classical Music Examiner wrote of Fiore’s previous performance at Old First Church: “Each of the works on this program presented its own set of challenges, and Fiore was clearly up to all of them. He performed with a very unassuming style, always focused entirely on his instrument, always sensitive that each note sound (and resound) with just the right intonation”.
