The Ghosts of Kalamazoo Historic Tour provides a historic account of Kalamazoo with a twist – delivering the weird, the haunted, and the historic stories found throughout Kalamazoo. Each night, a ticket is good for a unique walking tour of various historic sites throughout the City of Kalamazoo.
The tours run on Friday and Saturday nights in October (beginning October 10) and will run from 7-9:45 p.m. Tours will leave the starting location every 20 minutes, with the last tour leaving at 9:00 p.m. Each tour will last 30-45 minutes.
The second weekend of the Tour will explore Mountain Home Cemetery. One of Kalamazoo's oldest and most impressive cemeteries, Mountain Home is the resting place of many of Kalamazoo's prominent citizens.
According to Tour President Eric Schmidt, “We’re not your typical 'scary' Halloween event – we’re focused on telling interesting stories in great locations. The Ghosts of Kalamazoo Historic Tour is definitely a nice change of pace from the typical haunted house-style event.”
All proceeds from the Ghosts of Kalamazoo Historic Tour will be donated to Warm Kids (http://www.warmkids.org), a non-profit organization that provides coats, boots, mittens and scarves to underprivileged children in the community.
As spots on the Tour are limited, reservations are encouraged, and may be placed at http://www.ghostsofkalamazoo.com.
