What on earth is going on at the Hangtown Asylum for the Extremely Tense People? With her flight grounded due to bad weather, Harriet Hollyhock decides to visit her cousin, Dr. Horace Roy, director of the Hangtown Asylum with his extremely tense guests. Harriet encounters more than she has bargained for when she meets her cousin, Dr. Roy, for the first time.
Strange things are happening and there has even been a burglary! Still, the staff refuses to call the police and risk having their guests upset. But when the poltergeist manifests, Harriet takes things into her own hands. She calls for the Ghostchasers, led by Honcho. A group of commandos, a clairvoyant, and miss directed real estate clients add to the mayhem that is erupting around Harriet. Enter journalist, Lydia Snoop, who wants nothing more than to prove the Ghostchasers are fakes. As Harriet's visit to Hangtown Asylum continues, she discovers not everyone is who they claim to be.
