Miami Metrozoo presents the 5th Annual Amy’s Ride for the Animals, an event which helps raise funds for enhancing the two new male lions’ exhibit and is dedicated to the memory of Amy Neill, a former senior zookeeper at Miami Metrozoo. A $20.00 donation per vehicle (up to two riders per vehicle) entitles registered participants to one free commemorative tee shirt per vehicle and free admission for up to two riders per vehicle to the zoo on the day of the ride. Additional shirts are available for a $10.00 donation. Family members and friends who enter with registered participants will pay only $7.00 to visit the zoo instead of the normal zoo admission for adults and children. Participants will enjoy special animal encounters, motorcycle/car displays and vendors who have sponsored the ride. A vehicle “Cruise-In” will be held in the zoo’s parking lot. There will also be a special motorcycle-themed Wildlife Show in the zoo’s amphitheater at 2:00 p.m., and for an additional fee, there will be a behind-the-scenes zookeeper talk and rhino feeding at 1 p.m. The ride starts at Betty’s Best Burgers – U.S.1 and S.W. 104 Street – and ends at Miami Metrozoo.
