Get the Picture: A Charitable Art Auction in Support of Distress Centres July 27, 2006

Come support a good cause! Distress Centres’ Young Patrons Committee is hosting a Silent Art Auction fundraiser. Purchase fabulous works of art for your apartment/condo - created by some of Canada’s most talented emerging artists!

The evening’s entertainment will also include hors d’oeuvres, live music by the Kevin Yoon Jazz Quartet, and guest speaker Mona Seth from the Distress Centres’ Survivor Support Program. There will be non-art items up for bid as well.

The first 100 people who purchase tickets will receive a $10 voucher towards their first purchase of art! Tickets are $20 for singles and $30 for couples, and can be purchased in advance by calling the Distress Centres at 416-598-0292.

All proceeds from Get the Picture go towards supporting the Distress Centres’ services. The Centres provide 24-hour telephone support to those experiencing emotional distress or in need of crisis intervention and suicide prevention. The Centres also provide face-to-face support and counseling to people dealing with the effects of suicide and homicide.
