Get cooking in April—join Westfield Santa Anita and the Westfield Family Program for Family Fun Days featuring “Young Chefs of Westfield.” Kids will learn how to fuel their bodies in a healthy way by encouraging them to get in the kitchen and cook with their families.
On April 12, join us for story time starting with Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake by Michael B. Kaplan, a book about a bunny who likes chocolate cake so much that she claims she will marry it one day. Froggy Bakes a Cake by Jonathan London is a story about Froggy who wants to bake his mother a birthday cake all by himself which turns into a big mess! Kids will then tap into their own creativity and create beautiful pom pom ice cream sundaes and enjoy a snack.
April 26th will feature stories about food and gardening, starting with Pizza at Sally’s by Monica Wellington, which teaches lessons about where food comes from. The second book, Planting A Rainbow by Lois Ehlert, teaches children how to plant their own garden and nurture growth. Kids will then enjoy a snack and decorate their very own aprons that they can wear when helping out in the kitchen.
