Get cooking in April—join Westfield Great Northern and the Westfield Family Program for Family Fun Days featuring “Young Chefs of Westfield.” Kids will learn how to fuel their bodies in a healthy way by encouraging them to get in the kitchen and cook with their families.
April 19, families will visit the center again for a second event beginning at 10a.m. at Play Space near Macy’s. The “Fun Day” will feature story time with “Miss Lisa,” all about food and gardening. First up will be Pizza at Sally’s by Monica Wellington, which teaches lessons about where food comes from. The second book, Planting A Rainbow by Lois Ehlert, teaches children how to plant their own garden and nurture growth. Kids will then enjoy a snack and decorate their very own aprons that they can wear when helping out in the kitchen. In addition, Above the Barre dance studio of Berea will get kids moving with a special dance instruction session and performance.
