German Motion Pictures. Cinema in Germany can be tracked back to the very beginnings of the medium, at the end of the 19th century. Since then, German cinema has made major technical and artistic contributions to film. Through a selection of meaningful German motion pictures, film-expert Sridala Swami will take film lovers through a journey rich of insights and curiosities about the German film production. Sridala Swami studied film editing at Asia's premiere Film school, The Film and Television Insititute of India, Pune. While there, she won the Kamlakar Award for best editor. She has edited documentaries, commercials and serials and has taught courses on cinema at the Delhi School of Communication and at the Lady Shriram College For Women in Delhi. Swami's first book of poetry, A Reluctant Survivor, published by the Sahitya Akademi in 2007, was short-listed for the Shakti Bhatt First Book Award. She is working on her second book and also conducts film appreciation workshops and creative writing workshops.
