George Washington Carver Opening Day

George Washington Carver, born into slavery during the Civil War, rose to become one of the most famous scientists in the early 20th Century. On Saturday, July 30 a beautiful exhibition created by The Field Museum with the support of Tuskegee University and the National Park Service will open at The Durham Museum. The exhibition includes more than 100 artifacts, videos and items celebrating Carver’s contributions as a scientist, artists and humanitarian.
