General Guinness Band, Traditional Irish Music & Dance July 11, 2010

Featuring vocalist James O’Shea from Kilkenny, Ireland, the General Guinness Band combines Irish ballads with energetic fiddle tunes and Irish step dancing. The band's riveting instrumentals, complex arrangements, and step dancing intensify their vocal renditions of numerous hard-to-find songs going back nearly 500 years. While playing a variety of instruments including the fiddle, tin whistles, Irish flute, guitar, bodhran (Irish drum), and Irish bouzouki, the band incorporates humor and provides insight into the charming lore and myth of the Irish.
