Gemini Soul "Live" @ The Silk Road Lounge (Jazz/Funk Fusion) January 18, 2009

Gemini Soul will be making their debut appearance at The Silk Road Lounge located in Oakland's Jack London Square. Gemini Soul's performances have been compared to the pop funk jazz fusion of Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis and the funkiness of Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke.

Gemini Soul will perform 2 shows January 18th @ 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm; Free Admission. Gemini Soul will perform material from their new double CD "Dark Skin Babies : The Movement."

"Dark Skin Babies : The Movement" will be released February 10, 2009 and features a two CD set, which contains 20 tracks of non-stoppable experimental jazz funk-fusion at its best. With all songs produced, arranged and composed by Andre Ajamu Akinyele, bandleader and bassist, this marks as Gemini Soul's fifth album. This is Gemini Soul's most political and social conscience collection to date. "Dark Skin Babies : The Movement" is the follow-up to their 2008 release "The Nefertiti Xperience."
