Gemini Soul will be performing their eclectic blend of nu-jazz/funk/fusion at the Monterey Bay Spring Festival located at Fisherman's Wharf; Saturday - May 23rd and Sunday - May 24th @ 3 pm; Free Admission. This event is sponsored by the PacRep Theatre.
Gemini Soul's performances have been compared to the pop funk jazz fusion of Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis and the funkiness of Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke.
Gemini Soul will perform material from their new double CD "Dark Skin Babies : The Movement," which was released February 10, 2009 and reached #13 on Amazon.com's "Hot Bestselling New & Future Releases in Jazz Fusion." Dark Skin Babies : The Movement features a two CD set, which contains 20 tracks of non-stoppable experimental jazz funk-fusion at its best. This marks as Gemini Soul's fifth album and their most political and social conscience collection to date. "Dark Skin Babies : The Movement" is the follow-up to their 2008 release "The Nefertiti Xperience."
