GeekUp Sheffield takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. It's a grass-roots knowledge sharing and networking social for folks involved or interested in all forms of technology and creative media.
Technology Paths
What would your career be like if you managed it in an open source way? Studying Computer Science, Maths or Web Development isn't the only way to get into the technology, creative and digital industries. And qualifying in those areas doesn't lock you into certain roles once you're there.
This month is a informaton-gathering workshop that kicks off a series on managing your professional career.

From 6pm for a 6.30pm start, and maybe an interlude with the Director's Cut of Enter The Dragon at 8.30pm.
What is GeekUp?
GeekUp is a community of tech-minded folk from the North of England. Our socials take place once a month in a lot of places and are always a lively place to share ideas and spread a little knowledge.

Hi everyone! I look forward to this month's GeekUp!
Some of you may have met me at unsheffield. I have just launched a web application, http://myOnePage.com. OnePage gathers everything you're doing on the web, to make it easy to share your contact details and what you are doing.
We've had some very interesting experiences already in terms of software engineering, project management, collaboration, deployment strategies, cloud computing (we use EC2), and more! I'd love to chat to people about how we launched the app in around 4 months. Also, I want to give everyone an invitation to get their own OnePage :)
