Geek Grand Prix II - POSTPONED February 2, 2008

IT SEEMS THAT EVERYBODY IS BUSY THIS WEEKEND, SO KARTING IS POSTPONED UNTIL LATE MARCH (AFTER SXSW). I'LL POST A NEW EVENT AT THE TIME.

BOOK NOW! on 01273 834403 - they only have 15 places left on the 11.30am session, so we're provisionally booked onto the 9.30am session (ouch!), thinking we'll have more than 15 people. If we don't, they'll shift us to join the 11.30am session if we want.
Call them asap and book yourself under the 'Paul Annett' party for Feb 2nd.
Since we're not all booking together, please update your 'watching' / 'attending' status so we can all get an idea of how many people have booked.

About a dozen geeks headed out of Brighton for some Karting in early December, and it was fantasitc fun! (photos: set 1, set 2) Everybody said they wanted to do it again, so....
If we get over 20 people, apparently we get the track to ourselves and we don't have to stick to the usual event format. Tell your friends, family, pets etc...
The venue is just north of Brighton (directions) but you don't have to be Brighton based, just come down for the day!
Cost = £49.50 per person (no refunds)
Last time I collected all the cash and paid in one lump sum, but I think it would've been OK for us each to call up and add ourselves to the group booking. DO NOT BOOK UNTIL I CONFIRM THE DATE It could change depending on our and their availability.
Races include: practice, heats (3 each?) to determine your grid position in the semi-final, semi-final to determine who's in the final, final. All this takes 2.5 hours - I'm sure we were racing for longer than that, but that's what the brochure says.
Everyone gets to race in all races except the final, which is only for those who qualify in the semi-final.

That's a real shame Nat. Hopefully this will turn into a regular thing every few months, so you'll be back for the next one :-)

well, after reading Q-Leisure's terms and conditions, it seems we have to have paid in full, the amount which is non-returnable, at least 28 days in advance of the event date. so shall we reschedule for... let's say... March 15th? That gives us time to organise, book, and pay! What does everyone think to this idea?

Noooo, not the 15th, it's my birthday and I want to be in Guildford for it....weekend before or weekend after would be much better

Would love to come and loose to you all again! :) It really was a lot of fun last time, I enjoyed it, though Simon and I are away all of Feb and beginning of March so unfortunately we won't be able to make it :(
