Join us for a fabulous day of free computer and internet workshops! Everyone welcome - friends, family, students teachers, everyone!
On Saturday October 23 everyone you're invited to Geek Day sponsored by HMAUS and Leeward Community College. This is the best array of hands-on workshops and presentations I've seen offered to the community and it's going to be tons of fun..and FREE.
Details are at http://www.leeward.hawaii.edu/Geekday.
Be sure to click the Sessions and Keynote buttons to get descriptions of the over 22 presentations, Tech Talk tables and "Really Smart Bar'. No registration, just come. Bring family and friends.
The LCC faculty and other professionals will let you try programs like Photoshop, Lightroom, Maya 3D and Illustrator - but do it in a way that's user friendly and fun. Of course we'll have iPhoto, iLife, Mac 101 and Garage Band - all hands-on. Web 2.0 tools, online banking and trading, social media and more.
Keynotes - Joe Kissell, senior editor for tidBITS.com, a 20 y/o Mac newsletter, and author over well over 100 Macworld Magazine articles is doing an presentation on "Mac Maintenance" and "Windows on a Mac" via iChat from Paris. He did one for us and he's a very good presenter and extremely knowledgeable and can answer your questions.
Kepano Kekuewa presents "Apple for Home and Work" at noon. This should be interesting as Apple increases its presence in many areas.
