This Spring San Antonio BEST will sponsor a robotics program aimed at elementary and middle school students. The program GEAR" stands for Getting Excited About Robotics.
Like BEST, the competition is free and a lot of fun! Teams have 5 weeks (including Spring Break) to come up with an autonomous robot to play the GEAR game in a head-to-head competition against other teams. Details about the game are kept secret until kick-off.
We need your help to make this event a positive experience for students in grades K - 8. Volunteers are needed on game day (March 21) in several areas. To lend a hand, simplyselect one of the tickets above (ie Judges, Refs, etc.) andclick the 'Register Now' button. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for volunteers. Feel free to pass this invite along to others who may also be willing to help our students succeed!
The rules of the game will be revealed at Kick-off (Feb 14). Stop by if you would like to see a demonstration of the 2009 challenge.

Teams have 5 weeks (including Spring Break) to come up with an autonomous robot to play the GEAR game in a head-to-head competition against other teams.
