This Spring San Antonio BEST will sponsor a robotics program aimed at elementary and middle school students. The program GEAR" stands for Getting Excited About Robotics.

Each GEAR team must provide its own Lego Mindstorms Kit. Like BEST, the competition is free and a lot of fun! Teams have 5 weeks (including Spring Break) to come up with an autonomous robot to play the GEAR game in a head-to-head competition against other teams. Details about the game are kept secret until kick-off. All teams are required to attend Kick-Off.

For more information, please view the SA GEAR website: http://gear.sabest.org or contact Pam Colby by e-mail at pamela.colby@technologyffwd.com or by phone at 210.745.5822.

Team sign up is available via the registration link on this page and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration deadline is Feb 7, 2009. We anticipate limiting the team count to 48 teams.
