Maurice Jamal follows up on his debut feature The Ski Trip (now in high rotation on the Logo network) with a serious comedy about family drama.

A prodigal son story with a twist, Dirty Laundry follows Patrick (Rockmond Dunbar), a black gay man who seems to have the perfect life - a fabulous wardrobe, a great job at an upscale magazine and a cute young boyfriend - until the day a knock at the door and the revelation on the other side call him back to the traditional Southern family he hasn't seen in over ten years.

Once he gets back home, Patrick confronts a welcoming committee of nosy neighborhood ladies; later, he finds himself dragged out of bed and taken to church. He must also confront the family matriarch, Evelyn (Loretta Devine), whose own story holds as much drama and secrecy as her son's. One hilarious moment follows another, but Dirty Laundry is also heartfelt, tender and raw, striking emotional notes that ring true in every family.

Rollicking with a gospel-infused soundtrack, Jamal's film will have you stomping your feet, clapping your hands and rolling in the aisles with laughter. In an era of "down low" whispers, Dirty Laundry throws open the doors to bold and honest dialog about sexuality in our families.
