Who: Grimm's Fairy Tales is an original adaptation by Dr. John Lawton Haehl and his students from the Gavilan College Children's Theatre class. They’ve taken seven tales, including Hansel & Grethel, Briar Rose and Rumplestiltskin, and have created a children's play. Our production features a magical and elaborate forest setting based on the illustrations of Arthur Rackham. This lively and fun play will delight audiences and inspire them to read other tales from this classic collection. What: Grimm’s Fairy Tales is a classic collection of fables and folk-stories that have delighted people of all ages for centuries. These stories were originally collected during the early 19th century, with the intent of chronicling and preserving native German folklore. Some of these stories, such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, have gained universal recognition and have inspired major animated movies from Disney.
