Gastcollege Michael Stephens October 24, 2011

Op maandagmiddag 24 oktober nodigt de opleiding IDM jullie uit voor een gastcollege van Dr. Michael Stephens van 15.30-17.00 uur in lokaal Ovaal K0.45. Zowel studenten, docenten, vertegenwoordigers beroepenveld en overige belangstellenden zijn van harte welkom bij deze activiteit (voertaal Engels).

Michael Stephens is an Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. Zijn onderzoek richt zich vooral op het gebruik van technologie in bibliotheken, binnen de informatiewetenschap, met de focus op onderwijsprogramma’s op dit gebied (zie meer info op Tame the Web: Libraries & Technology: www.tametheweb.com).

De titel van zijn presentatie luidt: 'Information Environments & Technologies for a Hyperlinked World'

As mobile device and ubiquitous computing become the norm, access to information is available practically anytime and anyplace. What does it mean to have the world of information in the palm of your hand? How do we navigate social information space successfully? What does the future hold? From hyperlocal collections to hyper-connected social networks, Dr. Michael Stephens will explore new frontiers in services, learning and environments for info workers.
