This holiday season, get on board for a magical, miniature tour of San Francisco’s famed Golden Gate Park as the Conservatory of Flowers presents an all new Garden Railway display in celebration of the Park’s 140th Anniversary. Model trains and trolleys wend their way through mini versions of the Park’s specialty gardens recreated in loving detail with hundreds of dwarf plants, zip past sparkling water features that bring Stow and Spreckels Lakes to miniature life and even whiz by a wee bison paddock. Delightful replicas of 10 of the Park’s most beloved landmarks are creatively crafted from recycled and repurposed materials and include the Dutch Windmill, the Japanese Tea Garden, the de Young Museum, the Music Concourse Bandshell, the California Academy of Sciences, the Carousel, the Stow Lake Boat House, the Chinese Pavilion, McLaren Lodge and the Conservatory of Flowers. Visitors young and old alike can also learn about the history of Golden Gate Park in an informative display that features facts and photos about the Park’s rise from the dunes and more.
Please note the Conservatory of Flowers is closed Mondays. We are open Tuesdays-Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm.
