The Friends of Roseville Parks (FOR Parks) is hosting a Garden Party and the public is warmly invited. The event takes place on the shores of Lake Josephine on Thursday July 29, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy soft summer lake breezes and listen to live music while they stroll through the beautiful floral gardens surrounding the stately home of Tom and Mona Dougherty, 3076 N. Hamline Avenue, Roseville. Delectable treats and refreshing beverages will be served. Knowledgeable speakers will share information on several gardening topics including bees, butterfly gardens, roses, hosta, hydrangeas, rock gardening, small urban gardens, the art of gardening, backyard chickens, and flower arranging. There will be an "Ask the Expert" booth, provided by Linder's in celebration of its 100th anniversary. The event also includes a drawing for a delicious door prize. All activities are outdoors and are wheelchair-accessible. Free parking is available along Hamline Avenue or at the Advent Lutheran Church (Hamline at Josephine Road). Guests are asked to please wear flat-soled shoes.

The cost, $25 per person, is payable at the event. However, before July 23, the cost is only $20 for a reservation made with a check to “Friends of Roseville Parks” and sent to Midge McLean, 2844 N. Huron St., Roseville, MN 55113.
