Mississippi Grover (Outta Town, ON): www.myspace.com/mississippigrover
Mississippi Grover is NOT from Mississippi, though he did ride a train through there once. Sometime during the late 1990s in Ottawa (Canada), local garage punk duo The Desecrators asked their friend Greg Watson to play some blues harp for a couple of songs. Since every blues harp player needs an appropriate name, "Mississippi Grover" was born. Grover eventually became the full-time organist for The Desecrators, in addition to playing harp, guitar and accordion.
Fast forward to early 2005: The Desecrators have long disbanded, Greg has moved to rural Ontario with his family and Mississippi Grover has been born again as a one-man band, playing swampy garage and primitive blues punk stuff, also known as rock 'n' roll. He has been driving around Ontario and western Quebec since then, playing for audiences of all sorts and dazzling them with his moonshiny gumbo of sound. That's right, he's a one-man travelling-medicine-show, and his tonic is SONIC, baby!

The Speaking Tongues (Toronto, ON): www.myspace.com/thespeakingtongues
A two-man wrecking crew playing foot-stomp'n explosions deeply rooted in Mississippi Blues and Rock. With a full repertoire of pounding rhythms, screaming guitar and blues yelps - these two wildcards produce a sound that is sure to get the crowd, (and the walls) shakin'.
Playing each song as if it were there last, the Speaking Tongues revel in each moment they appear on stage…they’re fierce; they’re loud, and they've got more heart and bigger balls than anything else out there. Belting out tunes in the spirit of Hound Dog Taylor, Howlin' Wolf, The Soledad Brothers, The Kinks, The White Stripes and The Deadly Snakes; the Speaking Tongues are exactly what the city of Toronto has been waiting for.
"... The Speaking Tongues play a style of music that bleeds authenticity..." - Two Way Monologues

The Venisons (Peterborough, ON): www.myspace.com/thevenisons
Over football and beer, The Venisons were formed. Tired of the temperate singer/songwriter folk scene, N.L Sideburns and El Racoon-o combined their North Mississippi Blues, Rock and Punk influences. With the latest addition of Dan Jacobs (otherwise known as TalenteDan) and his broken organ and booming bass, the bands sound has been best described as "Blue-Wave" music...but whatever it is, it is a shot of Wild Turkey in a sea of Coors Light that is the music scene today. WORD!
