Gap Cave Tour February 19, 2011

A two hour adventure awaits as you explore Gap Cave with its majestic stalagmites, striking stalactites, and shimmering flowstone. Step into the music room and listen for the whispers of a Civl War soldier. Catch a glimpse of a bat or a cave salamander. Reservations are recommended and can be made up to one month in advance. Tours meet at the Daniel Boone parking area. Comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing are a must. No sandals or open toe shoes are permitted. This moderately strenuous tour involves a 1.5 mile walk and 183 steps must be negotiated in the cave. For safety reasons children under the age of five are not permitted on the tour. White Nosed Syndrome is killing thousands of bats in caves throughout the region. It is thought that it could spread from cave to cave on items which are brought in by cave visitors. Please do not wear or take anything in Gap Cave that has been in other caves. Also at 2 pm.
