Ganesha Sculptures by Ramakant Suryavanshi. About Sculptor : Ramakant Suryavanshi - Born in 1955 at Dhulia. He has done Government Diploma in Sculptures and Modelling from J.J. School of Art in 1979. He has also done Gemstone Carving Diploma in 1991. Since he is interested in traditional Indian Sculptures, he started studying and practicing in Indian traditional sculptures and abstract sculptures in Bronze. For advance study in sculptures he visited Madras, Bangalore and other places in India. He has won first prize in metal sculpture institued by Maharashtra State Handicraft Board, in 1983 and State Award in 1987. His sculpture Durga Devi was selected for National Award in 1987 and award was presented to him by Honorable President of India in 1989. He has been honoured by Kalamani Award by surajkund Mela Haryana State in 2006. He works in Bronze, Gold, Silver, copper and Terracotta. He had participated in several group shows till date. The works on display will be Ganesha in Terracotta. Around 15 sculptures will be on display.
