The EPA Game Day Challenge is a nationwide competition to reduce waste at university football games. During the November 12 football game, Humboldt State will participate in the Challenge while utilizing the event to also educate the general public about recycling in their communities. Student volunteers will man recycling and compost bins around the stadium to help fans with proper disposal of their items. The Campus Recycling Program and other organizations will host informational tables during the game to educate fans. During the game announcements will be made about recycling, and at halftime the team's mascot will do a skit theatrically demonstrating recycling.
