Fri and Sat, April 23 and 24th from 10am-4pm
The Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden, a non-profit community horticultural center, hold the 25th Annual Spring Tour, "Masterful Gardens over Twenty-Five Years " on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24, 2010, including a tour of 6 private Palo Alto gardens, plant sale, silent auction, raffle, boutique, luncheon, garden experts, and self-guided tour of Gamble Garden.
Join us for a day of exploring magnificent gardens...some lush, full of color, and robust with blooms and fragrance; as well as those that are water-wise and use water features effectively, provide elegant design elements, and highlight both vegetation and native plants. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
There are two clusters of gardens for easy viewing across the city. Three gardens in Old Palo Alto are an easy drive or a leisurely walk between them. The second cluster of gardens is in Crescent Park, easily within walking distance of one another. Custom designed trellises, sculptural iron gates, furniture, and planter boxes, a succulent garden, fruit trees galore, water saving landscaping, a fiber-optic lit cement patio, sophisticated gardens crafted in thematic precision by well known landscape designers are all available in this year's Spring Tour.
Gamble Garden is at the center of the Tour, literally as well as figuratively. This year live music will be performed at Gamble Garden during the main part of both Tour days.
There will be a gourmet box lunch available by pre-order ($15), complimentary iced tea, cookies, and coffee cart and crepe desserts for purchase. Unique plant, horticultural reference information, and hand picked boutiques and artists with high quality selections for sale.
This is a Tour not to be missed, along with the ever-growing "Over the Garden Fence" sale of lovingly used garden-themed items donated by the community and a Silent Auction filled with items you can not get anywhere else.
