North Carolina sculptor, Anne Lemanski works in familiar three-dimensional forms created from metal armatures “skinned” by stitching hand-painted or appropriated paper and/or materials to the armature. The choice of paper or material adds to the artists overall meaning of the work. Lemanski recently exhibited in “Possibilities: Rising Stars of Contemporary Craft in North Carolina” at Charlotte’s Mint Museum of Craft and Design and is a former resident artist at the Penland School of Craft in North Carolina.
