Gallery ChimMaya is pleased to present two very talented men, David Martinez and Victor Amor, in their latest exhibition.
David Martinez, artist on canvas, was born in East Los Angeles in 1970, and raised in the surrounding area. He received a BA from UC Riverside in studio art and photography in 2000. His work draws from the imagery that is part of his daily life (i.e. church, family, religion, celebrations and symbols of Latino culture). Influences of medium, form, commitment, and a no-nonsense approach to painting by mentors, George Yepes and Lalo Garcia, have set David on a path that has taken him to the next level in his art.
Victor Amor, sculptor, was educated at the National Art School 'La Esmeralda' in Mexico City. His artistic career has taken him to great accomplishments in producing art work for many important firms, companies, film studios, and galleries. Along with his artist wife, Ixchel, they conduct art classes and mentor youth in their Alhambra studio.
The show will run at Gallery ChimMaya from August 26th - September 22nd.
The artist's reception will be held on Sunday, August 26th, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.
