About the Capital City Symphony:
The Capital City Symphony strives to make great orchestral music approachable by presenting affordable concerts to the public, performing innovative programs in a relaxed concert format, and providing a musical outlet for talented amateur as well as professional players. Formerly known as the Georgetown Symphony Orchestra, we have been a community orchestra in Washington, DC for more than 40 years. We changed our name in July 2005 when we made the decision to move to the developing community of H Street NE by becoming an Arts Partner at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. The Capital City Symphony is comprised of volunteer musicians who donate their time for weekly rehearsals and quarterly performances for the benefit of the local community.
