The critically-acclaimed Bay Area ensemble, The Choral Project, will kick-off their new season with a Gala Opening Concert. Artistic Director Daniel Hughes says, “Our 12th Season is a collection of songs that are certain to touch and comfort our listeners, as well as uplift them to joy. This season’s musical material covers the gamut from the purest sacred sounds heard in works such as John Rutter's Requiem, to the evocative stylings of contemporary pop artists like Imogen Heap, to hand-clapping, soul-stirring Gospel music. We hope you join us this year and revel in our ‘Sanctuary of Sound.’”
This concert will feature a collection of classics including works by Händel, Mendelssohn, Vaughan Williams, and Bernstein, as well as folk songs from the Americas, Europe and Africa. As always, this concert features Choral Project favorites from years past, as well as works that will be fresh and new to our singers and audience.
