May 7th-13th at Loft 676, New York City

QUIK, HACULLA, CES, CRAM, KET, CINIK, KLASS1, T.DEE, TATS CRU, BIGFOOT, PORN, PAWN, EARSNOT, REE & TF DUTCHMAN.

Future Development offers a rare look at the world of graffiti art on
May 7th - 13that Loft 676 in New York City. The show is designed to
offer both graffiti enthusiasts and novices of this modern art form
an opportunity to take a peek at what this giant, momentous movement has to offer. The exhibit will showcase the contributions of a collective of pioneers who as individual artists have helped shape,
showcase and push this medium to its current mainstream growth and
popularity.

The exhibit features work from the originators of the art form such
as founding fathers QUIK from Queens and REE from the Bronx who both started in the 1970s. The work continues in the 1980s with KLASS1, PORN & T.DEE; through the 1990s and up to the current group of graffiti artists that are keeping the tradition alive. Many have
crossed over into the mainstream world including the collective TATS
CRU who work in creative urban marketing, BIGFOOT who recently
developed a signature line for The North Face, and magazine/book
publisher ALAN KET.

Years of life experiences and sacrifices have influenced these
innovators, allowing them to project feelings and social reflections
both visually and spiritually. Over the past 25 years, graffiti as an
art has crossed over and left an indelible mark on today's society
and popular culture. Decades from now, the artists featured here, the
energy they have harnessed from this influential movement and the
words and images on display throughout the Future Development exhibit will resonate with the general public, fellow artists, collectors and the art establishment alike.
