Funk and Soul in the Park December 4, 2010

It’s a party and everyone’s invited! Put on your dancing shoes and join soul sisters and funky fellas in a joyous celebration of classic sixties sounds.

Six-piece ensemble Randa and the Soul Kingdom will get things started at 7.00pm. One of Perth’s finest original deep funk bands, they feature a tight rhythm and horn section and imbue a high-energy, classic funk sound with a distinctive, fresh edge.

At 8.00pm, witness the phenomenon that is Boom! Bap! Pow!, described as the “most fun, danceable band in the whole state” (Andrew Ryan – RTRfm). With their sax, suits and three-minute old-school pop songs, Boom! Bap! Pow! earned three 2010 WAMI Award nominations, and have supported luminaries including The Four Tops, The Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas, and Mary Wilson of The Supremes.
