The Chicago area is home to over 1000 species of mushrooms. Some of these are excellent edibles, others are poisonous, all of them play important ecological roles. Join mycologist Dr. Greg Mueller on a mushroom hike at Ryerson Woods to see some of this fungal biodiversity and learn about the fascinating world of mushrooms. Mueller is the vice president of Science and Academic Programs at Chicago Botanic Garden. Children ages 8 and up welcome.
