This remarkable documentary from Pepe Urquijo tells the story of Santiago "Chago" Cazares, a pushcart fruit vendor in Oakland's Fruitvale District and his efforts to make a business/life for his family against all odds. He is confronted by power mongering police officers, a well meaning but manipulative union organizer and the city's health department's demands of legal permits to maintain his business. Chago's pressures amount financially and emotionally throughout the documentary.
