Frontline for Peace ‘touches our heart with the love for the children’. Dr. Kuwayama shows us hope for the future with his courageous spirit.”
In 2008, Vancouver’s Nikkei community invited Dr. Kuwayama from Japan to be part of the event of the 20th Anniversary of Redress. He talked both in English and in Japanese from the stage and sang songs playing guitar and violin, while showing the video and slides. His performance captivated the heart of the audience, although that was his first international concert outside of Japan.
The Peace concert is a tremendously uplifting and informative event that features the musical and story telling talents of Dr.Norihiko Kuwayama. It is a concert event that brings the audience a message of global peace, while raising awareness of the struggle for human rights, particularly for those of children in war-torn countries.
Dr. Kuwayama shares his experiences as a volunteer medical doctor in developing countries and in conflict areas through a colourful narration of hundreds of slides in combination with original songs. His grassroots approach makes it accessible to all. He has performed his concert over 2000 times and has toured extensively in Japan.
How can we help others?
His beautiful music and lyrics, backed by the images forces the audience to consider their own lives and the lives of others, thinking about how we can help those people who lack basic human rights and to think about how we can work to bring peace in those areas with conflict.
The JCCC welcomes him at the Kobayashi Hall on Friday September 24, 2010. Please spread this news from mouth to mouth and bring your family and friends together.
