TONIGHT, IT’S JOHN CALLAWAY ~ FRONT & CENTER!

WHAT: Front & Center with John Callaway turns around to focus on usual host, veteran Chicago journalist John Callaway, and his extraordinary 50 years in broadcasting, in a conversation hosted by Ed Tracy.

WHY: Mayor Richard M. Daley recently announced that Friday, October 5, 2007 has been designated John Callaway Day in Chicago. 2007 marks his fiftieth year in broadcasting.

WHERE: Pritzker Military Library, 610 N. Fairbanks Court, Chicago

WHEN: The presentation and live webcast will begin on Thursday, October 4th, at 6:00 p.m.

WHO: After five decades of interviews, panel discussions, debates, articles, books, stage shows, singing engagements and a serious addiction to sugar and salt, John Callaway remains the best pure interviewer of his time. He is the creator and former host of “Chicago Tonight” on WTTW, and the current host of “Chicago Stories” (WTTW) and “Front & Center with John Callaway” (Pritzker Military Library). He has received seventeen Emmys and a Peabody Award.

The Pritzker Military Library is a non-partisan military research library with over 25,000 historical, reference, biographical and rare books on military subjects, over 800 original antique military posters and prints, and other military artifacts from private donors and the collection of COL (IL) James N. Pritzker, ARNG (Ret.). Since opening in October 2003, the Library has produced over 160 programs including author events, interviews with Medal of Honor recipients, and Chicago’s only monthly military affairs panel program, Front & Center with John Callaway.

The Library is a short walk from the CTA Red Line (Grand). Public parking is conveniently located at the corner of Fairbanks and Ohio.
