After gracing our night Candied Nonsense several times last year, it gives us an immense amount of pleasure to spend an evening with this exceptional cellist and composer, who uses acoustic and electric cello, electronics and loops to create intense atmospheric music rich in layers and ripe with inspiration.
After playing and writing for several years in ambient post-rock band SonVer, JO QUAIL has spent recent months composing her own inspirational material, resulting in the album From The Sea.
Following Jo's recent tour of Australia, this evening she will present the world premiere of 'The Pilbara' EP, a new work triggered by the dramatic visual images of the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia.
This evening the phenomenal album From The Sea will be performed in its entirety by JO QUAIL and an array of guests including:
ROGER O'DONNELL, piano (The Cure)

AMY RICHARDSON-IMPEY, a top world ranking aerial artist and Miss Pole Dance New Zealand, will perform, on freestanding pole, her own choreographed routines to two tracks.
There will also be images from The Pilbara on display throughout the evening, including a video by MICHAEL FLETCHER of The Pilbara desert during the premiere performance of the EP.
This will be a true fusion of musicians from disciplines including rock, experimental, post rock, classical and alternative, as well as a celebration of performance art, visual arts and culture.
For the traditional and adventurous alike, this will be a rare opportunity to be part of a truly unique evening.
