Wayne O'Connell, winemaker/owner of Pietro Family Cellars and The Gabrielle Collection of Wines in California, will be in town for this special tasting. Wayne grew up in an Italian household that valued freshly grown garden produce and a family vineyard to provide the grapes for family red wines. He has fond memories helping his grandfather with family winemaking in the cellar, while grandmother crafted homemade pasta. The family would gather for Sunday meals, always with an emphasis on food and wine. This family background inspired Wayne to become a winery owner. For decades, he traveled to Napa Valley to learn about California wines. Now he serves as CEO and COO of the Gabrielle Collection and is responsible for all winery operations and vineyard contracting.
