Monique Jenkinson (a.k.a. Fauxnique) returns to the de Young this Friday night to premiere a site-specific solo, Heroic Comportment, in honor of the exhibition, Guise: Recent Prints by Deborah Oropallo. The notorious performance artist impressed the Friday Night crowd in April when she presented the couture performance, A More Perfect Union: Fauxnique & Mr. David Stage a Fashion Uprising. You don’t want to miss her performance this week, which will take place in the gallery, around Oropallo’s prints. Live music from Visantos, playing sparkly, dark cabaret music, and drag-diva, DJ Juanita MORE!, will electrify the Museum’s Piazzoni Murals Room and Wilsey Court. This Friday night at the de Young promises to be an unforgettable evening of music and performance art. The entire museum, café, and store stay open until 8:45 pm.
Regular museum admission prices apply on Friday nights. Admission includes access to all festivities including live music and interactive art projects.
