Friday Night Waltz is 10 years old! Our Anniversary dance, the biggest dance of the year! Welcome everyone, new dancers and returning dancers. We would love to see dancers from years past join us for the one big dance. ! Celebrating over 400 dances, workshops, performances, and Balls. We have had over 1500 hours of dance classes of all kinds, from Argentine Tango to cha cha to polka to waltz to zydeco. We have had over 40,000 attendees! um yeah, many have returned again and again and again, so the number of unique dancers is less, but still... that is a lot of people coming to our dance!
Tom Hill will teach his favorite classes, Viennese Waltz and Tango Fusion
7pm Tango Fusion. At its core, Tango is all about moving with, and connecting to your partner. We'll get you started on playful, interactive tango. We have noted that Tango has slowly become a popular dance and class at previous Friday Night Waltzes. Dancers are fusing their perceptions of Tango with swing, latin, and waltz dances. The results are a relaxed, fun, highly interpretive Tango . Many times you will see pivots, rollaways, chasses, swing dips, and untraditional dance holds - all with the goal of making Tango Fusion more fun and accessible.
8pm Viennese Waltz is the ultimate smooth dance. Fast, continuously rotating, flowing, energetic. The Viennese Waltz is always at the top of the requested dances at FNW. Tonight a quick introduction to the Viennese waltz followed by an introduction to . pivots and the chasse.
Jessica will be teaching a two hour introductory class from 7 to 9 pm.
