Friday Afternoon Fiber Funshop!
Students will explore the path traveled by a fleece, from the sheep, through cleaning, carding and spinning and will finally weave a simple piece of cloth using it. Each student will wash locks of wool, and then learn to spin the wool during the first week of class. Subsequently, students will use commercially spun wool to set up a simple frame loom, and will weave a finished piece of cloth using a combination of commercial yarn, and yarn from their own hands. Each student will have his/her own frame loom to come and go to class with, so they can continue the fun at home throughout the week, and at the end of the class. Four weeks
