Freshers Week 09 September 23, 2009

Freshers Week at Edge Hill University starts on Sunday 20^th September. The fun week of activities will give you an introduction to Edge Hill, your department and life on campus. As you settle in, you'll have the chance to meet other students and enjoy the entertainment and activities organised by the Students Union.

Saturday 19th September

Edge Hill OC

• Are you living off campus this year? Then this night is for you! Join us in the Venue from 8pm onwards for our pre Freshers quiz night. Prizes to be won, friends to be made and fun to be had! Come along and join the fun OC style.

Sunday 20th September

Edge Fest

• Bringing you live music from 3pm onwards in the Quad (behind the SU Building). The BBQ will be hot, the music even hotter and the weather - well you know what the UK is like! As day turns to night head to the Venue as the festival classics start pumpin' out with live bands on stage playing your favourite tunes.

Monday 21st September

Life Fair

• Coming to University is a scary experience; however it doesn't need to be totally stressful! Head to Sages Restaurant from 12pm - 2pm and get all the important information of how to survive during your time at University. Need to know what you can cook with a budget of £3 or who there is to talk to if you have a problem; this is the opportunity to get all the answers!

The Takeover @ Nation (home of CREAM)

• Start as you mean to go on here at Uni - the most popular night in Freshers week is back! This year we Takeover Nation, one of the UK's biggest clubs for a night of mayhem with DJ Dave Booth (Eden, Ibiza) and other guest DJ's! The fun begins in the venue from 7pm with a Pre-TakeOver party, and once we hit the town pick the room playing your favourite tunes! Transport included in the wristband price.

Bowling Trip

• If Liverpool isn't for you then make sure you head to security for 6pm for an evening of strikes at Southport Megabowl! This is included in the cost of your wristband and will be run by Unite Society so plenty of opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and continue to have fun!

Tuesday 22nd September

Rockaoke

• Ever dreamt of playing to a crowd? Then ‘live the dream' as the ever popular Rockaoke launches ‘The Tuesday Night Project', a brand new event coming to you every Tuesday. Having spent the summer rocking with the best at V Festival and Rockness this is one night not to be missed! Becoming a star is simple; pick a song, then sing karaoke style with one of the hottest bands around! Who will be crowned ‘Freshers Week Rockaoke Number 1'?

Pool Night @ 22 Club

• Fancy a night of playing pool, then head down to the 22 Club where the tables are reserved and the cues are ready!

Wednesday 23rd September

Give It a Go

• Fancy trying out for one of our sports teams or joining a society, but don't know what you fancy? This is your chance to have a go at everything; from 1pm - 4pm all our sports team and societies will be around campus getting ready to meet all of you guys! Get all the details when you collect your wristband!

Livin' la Vida Local!

• One of the benefits of coming to a small town is that it's easy to get to your local; so let us show you around! We will take in some of the town's watering holes before heading back to the Venue for THE night to be out at Edge Hill.

Games and Pizza Social

• Meet some of your Students Union for an informal chilled out games evening, with free food and loads of games. Don't stay in!

Thursday 24th September

Freshers Fair

• You chance to grab as much information and goodies as possible! Loads of local and national companies, organisations, charities and Uni Departments are here for the biggest day event on campus. With the tunes playing and the BBQ once again going in the Quad, why not grab a bit of lunch and a quick pint before getting the rest of your freebies! Freshers' Fair will run from 11am - 4pm.

Essential Thursdays presents... The 1st Birthday Blow Out

• Following the launch during Freshers week 08, EssentialThursday has gone from strength to strength. Wecelebrate our first birthday with Resident DJ DannyHoward playing the best in funky/electro house withupfront RnB/Hip Hop, packed full of surprises EssentialThursdays are back with a bang!

Saturday 26th September

Family Fun Day

• To all our student parents this afternoon is just for you, your chance to get to know other students in a similar position to yourselves whilst we entertain your kids, with loads going on from entertainment to games bring your family and let them see where you will study!

Alton Towers Day Trip

• For all our students staying around for the weekend, how about Alton Towers for a day! Leaving pretty early, you will hit Alton Towers as it opens and be ready to take on some of the biggest theme park rides in the country!

Beach Babes and Boys with A Celebrity Guest
