Jesmyn Ward’s debut novel, Where the Line Bleeds, was an Essence Magazine Book Club Selection, a Black Caucus of the American Library Association Honor Award Recipient, a finalist for the 2009 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award, and a finalist for the 2009 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. With degrees from Stanford and the University of Michigan, she is currently the Grisham Writer in Residence at the University of Mississippi. Fresh Ink is a joint production of VisArts, Library of Virginia, Chop Suey Books and Blackbird.
