Ojibway Moccasin Making

This two-day course will show you how to make a moccasin pattern,
how to do the stitching and decorating.

Stepping Into Freedom; Healing the Broken Spirit
Instructor: Joanne L. Longboat July 5 – July 9 (35 hours) $215

This workshop will explore the culture of the Original Peoples of this land called
Turtle Island. (North America). The workshop offers Canada’s historical and
cultural account of the Aboriginal people’s culture before and after the 1400’s.

Scoring for the Real World
Instructor: Ron Riddle Formerly the Drummer from Blue Oyster Cult and a composer for the Discover Channel etc Aug. 3 – Aug. 6 (30 hours) $275
This is a four-day film scoring course geared to the practical application of scoring
for film and television. The focus of this workshop is a “hands-on” opportunity to
work with a “real world” film composer in his studio.
Drawing Fundamentals
Instructor: Steve Pitre July 5 – July 9 (35 hours) $180
This course is intended for people who are looking to improve their draftsmanship in all of their artistic work. We will be doing “line studies”
to improve the quality of your overall line; we will discover how line weight
affects your drawings.
Character Design Fundamentals
Instructor: Steve Pitre July 12 – July 16 (35 hours) $180
In this class, you will learn all of the basic steps in creating characters that work
well with animation and that are interesting to look at.
Layout Background Fundamentals
Instructor: Steve Pitre July 19 – July23 (35 hours) $180
Ever wonder what goes into the planning of a background for an animation
production? Well here’s your chance to find out. This presentation will teach
you how to create a composition that is pleasing to the eye, how to guide your
audience’s eye to the things you want them to see.
Animation Fundamentals
Instructor: Steve Pitre July 26 – July 30 (35 hours) $180
Make drawings appear to move? Here’s your chance to learn how and even
create a simple animation during the week. This presentation will show you
how animation works. We will be covering subjects such as: timing, frame rates,
squash and stretch, follow through, and secondary action.
Landscape for Beginners (Acrylic)
Instructor: Carmen Munroe July 24 – July 25 (14 hours) $85
Courses are designed to let beginners discover their hidden potential in a very
relaxed and casual manner. Subjects will include investing part of yourself into
your work and allowing yourself the freedom of self-expression.

This course is for artists with good drawing skills. We will be drawing wild
animals (wolf portrait) in the studio and painting with watercolors.

Traditional First Nations Algonquin Painting (Acrylic)
Instructor: Frank Polson July 5 – July 9 (35 hours) $290
While learning to create beautifully colorful works of art, the students in this
course will also gain an understanding of the cultural significance and teachings
behind the symbols used throughout Traditional First Nations paintings.

Traditional First Nations Soapstone and Moose Antler Carving
Instructor: Frank Polson July 12 – July 16 (35 hours) $290
Frank Polson, traditional Algonquin carver and artist, will be taking students on
a 5-day journey exploring and learning to carve culturally traditional symbols
from nature in soapstone and moose antlers using hand carving tools.

Traditional Algonquin Totem Pole Carving
Instructor: Frank Polson July 19 – July 23 (35 hours) $290
Using hand carving tools, the class will create a full-size First Nations Totem pole,
while learning the cultural traditions and teachings behind these ancient symbols.
