Westfield Oakridge’s Westfield Family program presents I Am Special for the month of August, featuring Westfield Family Fun Days designed to focus on confidence and self-esteem.
August 3 will feature story time with “I‘m Gonna Like Me: Letting Off a Little Self-Esteem,” written by Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell, and “Bad Case of Stripes,” written by David Shannon. Kids will enjoy a healthy snack and create a picture frame to take home. As a special treat, Circus Vargas will present a free preview of their upcoming show, opening in their signature blue and gold big top tent in the parking lot of Westfield Oakridge on August 4.
For August 17, the featured story time books are “It's Me!” by Eric Drachman and Isabelle Decenciere, and “I Like Me!” by Nancy L. Carlson. Kids also will decorate hand mirrors, create self-portraits to take home, and enjoy another healthy snack. Popular singer/songwriter Andy Z will be back with his fun and unique brand of musical storytelling.
