FREE West Coast Swing Dance Lessons April 1, 2008

Dance instructor John Wheaton was so happy with the turnout of good people and the fun we all had for Salsa lessons last time, that he has decided to offer some more FREE Central Coast Singles Dance Lessons. He had a blast with over 60 people there, more than 40 of them singles! I didn't get the exact count, but he stopped counting singles at 40 lol. I have some video, but no pictures. You don't have to be a member of CCS to attend, but membership is free, and there are a lot of benefits. You'll want to join up once you get there.

6:00 PM ~ Come mingle and meet other CCS members before lessons start (FREE)
7:00 PM ~ West Coast Swing Basics (FREE)
8:00 PM ~ Beyond Basics (FREE)
9:00 PM ~ Practice your dancing! (FREE)

Directions: On Highway 101 take the Main St/Hwy 166 West exit, head West on Main. Follow Main St. until you see Sears and the Santa Maria Town Center parking structure. That means you are near Broadway. Turn LEFT on Broadway about 2 blocks. Watch on your left for a red building after you pass the library construction site. Mingle: If you come at 6 pm or earlier, you will have a chance to meet other CCS singles. We will mingle and get acquainted. There is the bar, some tables, and billiards (if the pool tables aren't already busy) to keep you occupied. It's a good chance to meet people. Please check in when you get there.

Dinner: The grill boasts the best burgers and chicken salad in town, but I didn't have a chance to find out for myself last time, and didn't get any feedback. Either way, it is available for you again. This time, they are extending their happy hour specials to us. I will likely be there about 5:30 PM to get my food ordered before others show up. Of course, this part is optional, but they do have a menu, and the manager is ready for us. They are making sure the kitchen is ready and we will get quick service. Let's put them to work lol. I like it when anyone tells me they are going to make special arrangements for us.

Dance Lessons: Yes, these are totally FREE. John loved the fact that we were able to fill his class last time, and is looking forward to this month. I got very good feedback from last time. Although I had a couple things I had to go to while people were learning, I was told by other CCS members that everyone had a good time. When I did pop in, it looked like everyone had pretty much mastered Salsa, and were looking good! I will make sure I have the time free this month, and will take lessons myself! I wish those meetings had not come up last time, or I would be a salsa master myself

What's the catch? They only ask that if you are getting the free lessons, you at least get a drink or something from the bar, which I think is fair. I'll probably get dinner there, so I'm covered lol. I don't think most people will have a problem with buying a drink to get the free lessons and free dancing (you'll work up a sweat and need something anyway), but if you don't want to buy something, nobody is going to force you. You can still do this absolutely free. I'll just tell them my dinner and soda covers you lol.

So, let's have some fun, get free West Coast Swing lessons, and really do it up this time! Let's see if we can push the house limit and fill the place even more than they can handle lol. I would love to see more than 50-60 singles this time. We have been getting more and more people each time, so this should grow, also.

I am posting this in different places, so i addition to the RSVPs you may see here, there will be several other people attending. Even if you are not 100% sure you will be there, sign up anyway, so we can reserve your lessons. If he gets too many people, he may have to limit it to his own people and the people on our lists. Then other people can join in as room allows.

This is a great offer, as lessons usually cost $10 each or $30/month. Even tho his lessons are apparently worth the price (from what I've been told by former and current students), you won't want to miss out on this offer.
