Free Veterinary Seminar - The Importance of Pets in the Lives of our Seniors July 8, 2009

Selmer, D.V.M. is happy to announce that on July 8th, 2009 at 2pm they will be partnering with Sterling Glen of Roslyn (100 Landing Road, Roslyn, NY 11576 [516] 626-6900) to host a free seminar on the health benefits of seniors owning a pet. This event is open to the public and seniors and their families are invited to come to this fun and educational event.

"A senior citizen’s quality of life can be greatly improved and loneliness reduced by being a pet owner,” said Dr. Selmer. “Love is the most important health tonic we have, and pets are one of nature’s best sources of love." Seniors, and a lot of pet owners, typically are unable to provide appropriate care for the life of their pets. Advanced Animal Care Center concentrates their efforts towards providing seniors with an opportunity to ensure the proper care for their animal companions. With many services catering to seniors such as their state-of-the-art veterinary mobile unit, if an owner is sick or house bound, Dr. Selmer can make house a call to care for their dog or cat.
